On Monday and Tuesday, students in
Periods 2 and 3 did a lab experiment on Calorimetry. On Wednesday and Thursday, students in Periods 2 and 3 began to study Chapter 6 (Electronic Structure of Atoms). On Friday, students in Period 2 finished the Chapter 6 packet. They began to work on the material for Chapter 7 (Periodic Properties of the Elements).
Homework for Periods 2 & 3: Do the Mastering Chemistry assignment for Chapter 6 which is due on Friday, November 7.
On Monday and Tuesday, students in Periods 5, 7, and 8
reviewed radioactivity and half-life. On Wednesday and Thursday,
students in Periods 5, 7, and 8 took a quiz on Atomic Theory & Structure. On Friday, students in Period 8 began to learn about Electron Configuration.
Homework for Periods 5, 7 & 8:
No homework. I will introduce the concepts of electron configuration and give more information about this during our next class.
On Monday, students in Period 4 learned about the development of atomic theory. On Wednesday, students in
Period 4 learned about the properties of protons, electrons, and neutrons. On Friday, students in Period 4 learned about radioactivity and half-life.
Homework for Period 4:
Your homework is to study for a QUIZ on atomic theory and atomic structure. This quiz includes atomic theory, protons, electrons, neutrons, isotopes, ions, radioactivity, nuclear decay reactions, and half-life.
