On Tuesday, students in Period 2 took a quiz on Chapters 11 and 12. On Wednesday and Thursday, students in Periods 2 and 3 learned about the properties of solutions (Chapter 13). On Friday, students in Period 3 took a short quiz on Chapter 13 and received a packet on Chapter 14 (Chemical Kinetics).
Homework for Period 2: Finish Mastering Chemistry (Chapter 13) and study for the quiz on Chapter 13.
Homework for Period 3: Work on the Chapter 14 packet.
On Tuesday, students in Period 4 finished their packet on Kinetic Molecular Theory and Gas Laws and worked on a practice quiz for homework. On Thursday, students in Period 4 took a quiz on the KMT and Gas Laws.
Homework for Period 4: You just took a quiz, so no homework. Next class you will learn about the ideal gas law and stoichiometry of gases.
On Wednesday and Thursday, students in Periods 5, 7, and 8 learned about the ideal gas law and gas stoichiometry. On Friday, students in Periods 5 and 7 did a lab experiment in which they reacted magnesium with hydrochloric acid to produce hydrogen gas. They calculated an experimental value of the ideal gas constant (R).
Homework for Periods 5 and 7: Review the practice quiz you received in class on Friday. You will have a quiz on Tuesday.
Homework for Period 8: Review the packet on ideal gas law and stoichiometry. We will do a lab on Monday.
